What is unclaimed money?

It's money that already belongs to you but has been turned over to the government because it went unclaimed. Every state has an unclaimed property program — it's the law.

Banks, insurance companies, employers, and utilities are required to hand over dormant accounts to the state after a period of inactivity. The state holds it until someone claims it. There's no expiration.

  • Forgotten bank accounts and safe deposit boxes
  • Uncashed paychecks and tax refunds
  • Life insurance policies and pension benefits
  • Utility deposits and overpayments
  • Stock dividends and old 401(k) accounts

Let's find your money.

You're in. We're on it.

We'll search government databases for unclaimed funds in your name and email you with what we find. Usually within 48 hours.

Your info is private. We never sell your data.

Yep, we get asked this a lot.

Q Is this a scam?

No. And we totally understand why you'd ask. Unclaimed money is real — it's managed by every US state's treasurer or comptroller office. You can verify this at unclaimed.org (the official NAUPA site). We just make the search easier. We never ask for bank info, social security numbers, or upfront payment. You can always claim directly through your state for free — we just help people who don't want to do the legwork.

Q How much does it cost?

The search is completely free. If we find money and you want our help recovering it, we charge a small percentage of what you actually receive. You never pay anything upfront, and you never pay if we don't find anything. Simple as that.

Q How long does it take?

We usually complete our search within 48 hours and email you the results. If we find money, the actual claim process depends on the state — some take a few weeks, others a few months. We guide you through it either way.

Q Why can't I just do this myself?

You absolutely can. Every state has a public search tool. The challenge is that there are 50+ different databases with different interfaces, and money can be held in states you've never lived in (companies move funds around). We search everywhere at once and handle the paperwork. If you'd rather DIY, no hard feelings — check unclaimed.org.

Q What info do you need from me?

Just your name, email, and state. That's enough to start searching. If we find something, we may ask for additional verification (like an old address) to confirm the match. We never ask for your SSN, bank info, or credit card to search.

Q Does unclaimed money expire?

In most states, no. The government is required to hold your property indefinitely until you claim it. There are a few exceptions (like some states with very old dormancy laws), but in general, your money doesn't expire. It's just waiting for you.

Your money's been waiting. Let's go get it.

Takes 30 seconds. Completely free. We'll email you within 48 hours with what we find.
